Taco Bell is now running retirement community that comes with thrift store and arts center

In the twist of the year that literally no one saw coming, Taco Bell is hosting a retirement community that includes everything from aerobics to an arts and crafts workshop.

Taco Bell, which is said to be gearing up for a Baja Blast Gelato launch, is a fast-food chain with nearly 8,000 restaurants across the US. Though they usually stick to Mexican-inspired food like the recent Cheesy Street Chalupas, they are known for exploring unique customer-attraction methods. A recent example could be the Cheezit 16-times larger than the regular variety.

In a press release on Friday, Taco Bell unveiled the first plans for The Cantinas, the “ultimate” retirement community that will be open for one weekend and one weekend only.

Based out of San Diego, the retirement community encourages reward customers to embrace the “slow living, senior-at-heart” lifestyle with a range of elder-friendly activities.

To streamline the event, Taco Bell has hired a makeshift “board of directors” comprised of influencers and note-worthy individuals. First up we have Retirement House, a TikTok house comprised of seniors with over 5.8 million followers.

Reality TV star Joey Zauzig has been appointed as the Director of Retiree Vibes where he will be in charge of a pickleball tournament. Social media sensation Terri Joe has been designated as the Live Ms Bell(e).

“We’re rewriting the script for life beyond Retirement! The six of us are living proof that, like a fine wine, life can get better with age. Retirement is anything but boring, it’s an opportunity to spend quality time with your loved ones and play every day,” said Retirement House in the statement. “Excuse us as we live our best lives as the Slow Roasted Seniors on the Cantinas Board of Directors and show a new generation how to sit back, relax, and enjoy the good life with their best friends.”
