Trader Joe’s drops mocha latte-flavored pretzels for a limited time
Trader Joe’s is the only thing on every coffee lover’s mind right now. The retailer dropped its new snack coated in a fan-favorite flavor and it’s only available for a limited time.
Unlike the snacks sold commercially, the limited-edition food items at large grocery stores often gather immense attention with their unique taste. This holds true for Costco’s $5 rotisserie chicken and the new Rosemary Parmesan Cheese bread that’s “tasty” but “pricey”.
Trader Joe’s has a new snack inspired by coffee
Trader Joe’s Mocha Latte-flavored pretzels are the talk of the town. Available for a limited period, the new item costs you $3 for 7 ounces.
Journalist Andrea Kaufman working with The Kitchn who got to taste the snack brags about its rich flavor. ” Theyre salty, sweet, and coffee-y,” she writes in her review of the new item.
Unlike other chocolate-covered pretzels that are too sweet, the Mocha Latte pretzels are a perfect blend of white candy, ground coffee beans, and dark chocolate.
Several TikTok users have shown off their bags of pretzels while enjoying the crunchy snack, which is coated in white candy and ground coffee with dark chocolate drizzle topping.
Trader Joe’s hasn’t revealed plans to make this item a permanent addition to the self, but fans wish it comes true because they can’t stop munching on the sweet and savory treat.
The new flavor was picked by fans
Trader Joe’s reportedly had a poll to select the flavor that would inspire their new snack. In February, the grocery asked users to vote for four different flavors – Mocha Latte, Chocolate Donut, Peanut Butter and Jelly, and Birthday Cake.
Mocha Latte received the highest votes with 32% of them picking it over the rest of the flavors, while Birthcake Cake was the next favorite with 29% votes.
One TikTok user, after trying the Mocha Latte pretzels, said they “literally smell like coffee” and “they taste like you’re eating chocolate covered in espresso beans.”
Another user added: “It’s not too sweet. Really strong coffee flavor but not overpowering.” A third user said it’s a “10/10” with a “perfect amount of mocha, the saltiness, and a light drizzle of dark chocolate.”
