Is Soundcloud Wrapped a thing? Playback playlist explored
Following the release of Spotify Wrapped, some music fans have wondered if any other streamers offer a similar round-up, including SoundCloud.
Spotify’s Wrapped feature allows users to explore their listening habits over the year and shows their top artists and songs, as well as how many minutes they listened to music on the streamer.
As the platform’s 2022 edition of Wrapped has now been released, curiosity into whether other popular music streamers, such as SoundCloud, have a similar feature that fans can explore has sparked online. Let’s take a look…
Is SoundCloud “wrapped” a thing?�
Yes. The music streamer does offer its own round-up feature, which is known as SoundCloud Playback.
Like Spotify, through its Playback feature, SoundCloud offers a personalized playlist that includes users’ top music faves from across the year.
The Playback playlist is organized by the play count of the songs you listened to, meaning if there was a song you listened to on repeat, it’s probably going to be at the top.
As well as curating a personalized playlist of your top songs, SoundCloud introduced a few new additions to Playback last year, which reflected users’ listening habits.
The new reports included a look at users’ top artists and, for premium listings on SoundCloud Go and Go+ subscribers, a list of artists that users had helped support through fan royalties.�
2021’s Playback also brought users a hidden gems playlist that featured new songs with the same vibe as their top tracks of the year.
You can listen to your past Playback playlists since 2016�
Those who have used the music streamer for many years can look back on their fave tracks as early as 2016.
However, to get a personalized Playback playlist, users must have listened to enough music to create the roundup mix.
As per the Soundcloud website, users must have listened to at least 10 different artists and 30 different songs between January 1 and November 30 of the particular year.
