What is the Organize Your Music tool?

When you allow Playlist Machinery’s Organize Your Music to access your Spotify, it connects to your account, takes data from your library, then sorts it for you.

The tool uses the data that Spotify provides for each song to categorize your music.

Each song is analysed for its popularity, danceability, energy, positiveness, liveness, instrumentalness, and speechiness. Spotify also analyses the songs BPM, key, and loudness.

The Organize Your Music tool takes all of this into account when sorting your library.

How to Organize Your Spotify

If you’re looking for some help sorting out your music streaming service, you can currently access the Organize Your Spotify tool through their website.

When you open the tool, you will be presented with several options or what you wish to organize. They are as follows:

  • Songs youve saved to Your Music
  • Songs youve added to a playlist
  • Tracks in playlists you follow
  • All of your music
  • A specific playlist

When you’ve selected what you wish to have sorted, you just need to log in with your Spotify credentials and let the tool work its magic. It will sort your music into ‘Bins’ (based on genre, mood, popularity, etc.), then you can choose what goes into your new Spotify playlist.

If you want to do the manual sorting yourself, you might be interested to learn about Spotify’s folder function.

Although this feature has been around for several years, some Spotify users are just learning how to create playlist folders. You can organize your Spotify playlists into folders, then sub-folders. You are able to rename the folders accordingly, either by genre, mood, function, or whatever you fancy naming them!

These playlist folders can only be created on Spotify desktop, although they will still be visible in the app.
