Mr Beast has officially become a part of the select YouTubers to have reached over 100 million subscribers, but how many others have surpassed the milestone?
This week, YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, better known to his millions of fans as Mr Beast, finally reached 100 million subscribers on the video-sharing platform.
Mr Beast’s recent achievement has since prompted some to wonder what other YouTubers have also reached the milestone.
We take a look at YouTubers who have surpassed 100 million subscribers as well as what the YouTubers who reach the figure receive.
Mr Beast hits 100 million subscribers on YouTube
On Thursday (July 28), YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson reached 100 million subscribers on his Mr Beast YouTube channel. Donaldson shared the moment he surpassed the milestone with his subscribers as he live-streamed his reaction on his channel.
The 24-year-old YouTuber created his Mr Beast channel in 2012 and has since become known for his generous donations in his videos.
One of his first videos to go viral on his channel saw him give a homeless man $10,000. In November last year, Donaldson hosted his own real-life Squid Game, where he awarded the winner $456,000.
After hitting 100 million subscribers, Donaldson reflected on how he has been making videos since he was 11 years old and hopes to continue until the day he dies.
He explained in a press release: “This number, in a way, represents everything I’ve ever done in my life, and I’m so grateful to everyone who’s ever watched a video. I hope to do YouTube until the day I die.”
How many YouTubers have 100 million subscribers?
With Mr Beast’s recent achievement, fans are curious to know what other YouTubers have surpassed 100 million.
There are a total of seven channels that have reached over 100 million subscribers. However, out of the seven, only two are individual YouTubers, PewDiePie and Mr Beast.
Two of the seven are YouTube’s own channels Movies and Music. The other three are Indian music label and movie studio channel T-Series, children’s entertainment and educational channel Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes, and the Sony Entertainment Television India channel.
PewDiePie was the first YouTuber to reach the milestone, having hit 100 million in 2019. On his achievement, YouTube dedicated a video looking over his time on the platform.

What happens when you reach 100 million subscribers?
Those who have watched creators across YouTube over the years will know that on reaching particular subscriber milestones, creators are awarded achievement plaques.
The awards start at 100,000, with 100 million being the current highest award. At 100,000, YouTubers are awarded the silver play button, which is followed by the gold for one million subscribers and the diamond for 10 million.
The award for reaching 100 million subscribers is the red diamond play button. The first was awarded to PewDiePie in September 2019.
