Truth Socials Missed a step error message is the platforms latest
Former president Donald Trumps long-awaited alternative social media platform Truth Social officially launched yesterday (Monday, 21 February 2022). But its first day hasnt been all plain sailing.
Yesterday, Twitter teemed with people saying they had been placed on an ever-expanding waitlist for the platform we wrote about that here.

Missed a step is the latest obstacle for Truth Social users
Several would-be Truth Social users have taken to Twitter to express their annoyance at the error message.
It appears in a red pop-up box, with an exclamation mark inside a triangle. Oops, reads the message, looks like you missed a step .
Others report having experienced the same thing. They will get the bugs worked out eventually! commented one Twitter user.

Another added they received a different error message when attempting to sign into Truth Social � I got that it was a page for telephone verification (and) I had to delete the app and try again later.
In a word, people are confused. It keeps saying I missed a step , writes one. What step? Another adds, Ive looked everywhere and dont see what Ive missed.
What solutions have people found for Truth Socials Missed a step error message?
For some reason, changing the email address youre attempting to sign up/in with may work. One Twitter user reports changing their email from Yahoo to Gmail and finally got it going!

Their advice is to try switching if youre using Yahoo. Another followed their advice and reported back it worked for me just now . They are, however, on a massive waiting list .
One persons assessment is simply that Truth Social is overwhelmed right now I finally got my email confirmation signed up but it wont accept my username and password.
Another, who appears to have had a degree of success in signing up to Truth Social, nevertheless claims the sign-up software seems buggy .
First is an email verification stage, then a phone number verification stage, and only then can you pick a username as far as I can tell .
Sometimes, though, several times for me, it jumped ahead and let me pick a username that wont work.

Only 500 users have been granted access to Truth Social so far…
According to Deasilex, only 500 users are currently able to access Truth Social. Meanwhile, the social media platforms waitlist appears to be comfortably into six digits. However, whether this reflects the actual number of people attempting to gain access is not verifiable at this time.
The rest will be allowed after some time, continues the outlet. When, exactly? Possibly not until March.
CNN Business reported on 17 February that Trump Media & Technology Group chief executive David Nunes had said he expects Truth Social to be fully open to the public by the end of March .
