Snapchat Wrapped 2022 not working? How to see your year in snaps
Snapchat‘s version of Wrapped 2022 is out so here is what to do if yours is not working.
As the year comes to a close, our apps are helping us reflect over the last 365 days. We’ve tracked our listening habits with Spotify Wrapped, and seen an overview of the rabbit holes we got stuck in this year on Reddit, but now it’s time to see your year in snaps.
Snapchat Year In Review 2022 should be easy to access but if you are having issues finding it, or it is not showing up, we are here to help guide you.
What does Snapchat Wrapped look like?
Snapchat Wrapped uses ‘memories’ or snaps you have saved over the year to compile a graphic slideshow summarising your 2022.
The general structure is the same for everyone with segments titled ‘We loved”, “We laughed”, “We saw ourselves in a new way”, “We shared special moments with our friends” and “We saw new places,” among others.
The Snapchat AI or algorithm then inputs a photo or video from your saved memories that fits in with the category. However, it doesn’t always get this right!
Many users have posted about some unfortunate and highly entertaining mismatches in their Snapchat Wrapped.
How to find your Year End Story
To find your Snapchat Wrapped, first, open the app and launch the Snapchat camera, as you would if you were going to take a new snap.
Second, swipe up to access your Memories. You should then see a large icon that says “A Look Back at 2022: What a year it’s been!”.
If you press on the icon, you should then be transported into your personalized Snapchat Year End story. It might be worth updating your app if the icon is not showing up for you as a software update could be needed.
Why Snapchat Wrapped is not working for you
If you have the most up-to-date version of the app and your Snapchat Wrapped is still not working, there are likely two possible explanations.
According to TechBriefly, Snapchat has said that if you do not have enough saved memories on the app this year, it will not be able to create a Year End story for you.
A second reason for the Year in Review not showing could be if you are new to the service and similarly have not created enough content for a full Wrapped.
So the moral of the story here is – take more snaps next year!

The rapid nature of Snapchat means the app really sees us at our best as well as our worst. Some users have been reminded of wonderful moments that they had forgotten.
