Mans thoughtful gesture towards his girlfriend on her period makes him a dream guy

Taboos about women’s period are universal and most men struggle to understand the mental and physical complications that accompany the natural process.

However, one TikTok user is going viral for sharing everything he does for his woman when she’s on her period, thus earning himself the label of a “dream guy.”

Man’s thoughtful gesture towards his girlfriend on period

TikTok user Tommy Davis is setting major relationship goals by telling the world how he treats his woman during her period.

As he says, menstruation is only natural and there’s only so much a woman can do about how she feels during “that time of the month.”

Mood swings and cramps are only a few of many things we endure, and for some, the emotions can swing to the extreme causing major hindrances in daily life.

However, Tommy does just the thing that brings a lot of comfort to his lady, which every woman wishes to see her own partner do.

Firstly, he wouldn’t ever tell his girlfriend that she is “annoying or crazy” when she’s on her period. He gets her favorite snack or food to eat instead.

“Because more than likely she’s hungry if she’s on her period, and especially if she hasn’t eaten. I promise you she’s hungry,” he says, before suggesting getting her some flowers or things she likes.

He’s also realized that a woman may not be in the state to step out of the house while on her period owing to the cramps and discomfort. So, he thinks you should stay in with your lady and catch up on a movie or show.

Most importantly, he believes in “being there” for his partner, whether to listen to her or bring her period essentials like sanitary pads and tampons.

Tommy concludes his video by saying: “That’s just called growing up and being a man instead of being a child,” as there’s no shame in walking around the store with a box of tampons.

Women shower him with praise and respect

Tommy’s take on period has struck the right chord with his followers who have showered him with compliments in the comments.

When one user called him a “dream guy”, another commented, “Every man needs to hear this.” A third user urged male users to learn a thing or two from Tommy when one woman expressed that she wishes to be treated similarly by her man.

While period is generally a painful experience, being mindful of your habits can make it less unpleasant. When The Focus asked women’s health expert, Courtney Virden, if it’s possible to make period pain-free, she said:

“Many believe period cramps, especially extreme ones, are normal, but often, they are a sign of an underlying condition or that you need to make some changes.”

She recommends eating anti-inflammatory foods such as vegetables, fish, nuts, and dark chocolate while avoiding caffeine as it can cause inflammation and bloating in addition to slowing the flow of bleed, leading to worsening of period pain.

It’s extremely important to watch your sleep and avoid alcohol before or during your period.

Courtney told The Focus that women who dont exercise regularly tend to experience a more painful period and this is a fact backed by research. If you dont have an active lifestyle, you may experience more cramping, mood disturbances, fatigue, and water retention.

While all exercise is excellent and can help you with period pain, pelvic floor exercises are my go-to for helping someone combat period pain, she said.
