Male surgeon warns against dating men in his profession – the colors of those flags are red

Doctors might be one of the sexiest professions, but one has warned singles against dating male surgeons unless they want their hearts broken.

We have a lot to thank doctors for, after all, they keep our bodies working and filled with advice like how to improve your gut health. With hefty salaries, a dedication seen in few professions, and a sexy lab coat, you’d think that doctors would make great partners. Turns out maybe not.

Male surgeons are walking ‘red flags’

After missing the signs of manipulation and contending with the birth of AI partners, you might be looking for a stable and healthy relationship. Before you throw your eggs in the medical professional basket, consider wise words from retina surgeon Doctor Park (@drpark542).

Taking to TikTok in September, the doctor cautioned single pringles about dipping their toes in the male surgeon dating pool.

“I am just here to say, don’t do it, it’s probably not going to end well for you,” he said. –

Doctor Park explained that established male surgeons are typically older, more successful, and usually rich. While those characteristics basically sound like an advert (we’re sold), you need to remove those rose-colored glasses.

The surgeon said you need to question why that doctor is not “cuffed” despite their many shining characteristics and the promise of a financially stable life.

“What kind of issues are they harboring where in that they can’t maintain a relationship?” he questioned.

Nonetheless, if you’re choosing to look past the obvious red flags, doctor Park suggested going for a surgeon still in training, which he admitted is a “double-edged sword” itself. Your new beau might be incredibly busy, but they are “sweet” and without the ego and hardness that comes with years in the medical field.

The surgeon’s wise words are backed by science too as numerous studies report that divorce rates are increased in the medical field and surgeons specifically.

Surgeons are the ‘worst people’ according to one nurse

As you might expect, doctor Park’s comment section quickly became a competition on who had the worst surgeon story.

One person wrote: “I was an OR nurse for 7 years. The worst people Ive ever met were some of the surgeons I worked with.”

“Divorce attorney here&absolutely agree,” another said, while a third added, “Ex is a cardiothoracic surgeon. Dont do it.”

Another wrote: “Love my dad but hes a cardiologist whos been divorced twice. Do what you will with that information.”
