Doctor shocked at unhinged scrubs that bring high fashion to the hospital

Next time you find yourself in desperate need of a doctor’s assistance, you could find yourself confronted by a medical professional in the newest fashion scrubs.

When you think of doctors, images of stethoscopes, test tubes, and scalpels might be triggered in your mind. But if fashion companies have their way, you’ll soon be picturing your general practitioner in designer scrubs. Don’t worry, the viral 99% air handbag doesn’t seem to be on the style agenda.

Fashion scrubs are set to become the gold standard

Have you ever looked at your doctor’s scrubs and thought how boring they are? Well, as it turns out, there is a company to solve that exact issue.

Introducing Figs, a fashion company based out of Santa Monica, California, that brings together the worlds of medical care and style. Though the brand was started in 2013, it is doing the rounds on social media with videos from the likes of TikTok’s Saif (@saifs.space).

Taking to the video-sharing app earlier this year, Saif recorded his screen as he trailed through the Figs website. As you might expect, it started off realistic and ended with the “unhinged.”

“Wearing your Figs scrubs in an NHS hospital is a dangerous game because you’re probably going to get bullied for it,” the British doctor admitted. “I’m forced to wear these because NHS scrubs affect my psyche and I think I have allergies to them.”

On his tour around the website, Saif showed off scrub dungarees in a soft brown color while admitting that he would “bully himself” if he wore them. Next up was a “high fashion jumpsuit” in the same color, which arguably would’ve been more suited to a car garage.

Though Figs also has typical scrubs as part of its catalog, Saif zeroed in on some of the strangest items available. Such products included safari hats, backpacks, cargo pants, socks, and even surgery masks.

Medical professionals admitted to judging Figs wearers

Though some of the standard scrubs look to be both practical and stylish, medical professionals on TikTok said people “stick out like a sore thumb.”

One wrote: “I definitely judge the 3 doctors that wear figs at my work, they stand out so much in a bad way.”

“But how can you justify 100 scrubs that you will have to wash every day or have 5 pairs for 5 days because its gross to think you would wear them for more than one shift&” another said.

“Cries in nurse outdated dress. So jealous of the American healthcare fashion style,” someone else mentioned, as another chimed in, “Ngl I think, as the patient, Id also bully the person who came to ward rounds wearing dungaree scrubs.”
