What are the Backrooms?
Twisting, turning and looping like a maze, the Backrooms are never-ending spaces that exist outside reality, now turned into an ARG (alternate reality game).
Conceived by online conspiracy theorists on sites such as The Fandom Wiki and 4Chan, the concept gained traction in 2019 after a thread of unsettling images surfaced online.
Since then, those contributing to the theories have created rules and levels for the Backrooms, including a suburban area (level 9) and a jungle (level 37).
Sorry to disappoint, the Backrooms are fictional and theres no way you can physically visit those spaces but conspiracists insist youll find yourself in one if you find a way to escape or noclip reality. The term noclip refers to a video-game cheat that gives a player the ability to pass through items such as walls.

Some users suspicious over Google Map locations
Theres no denying the Google Map locations look pretty creepy but some internet users are raising eyebrows over some so-called Backrooms.
YouTuber SomeOrdinaryGamers claimed some of the alleged locations on Google Maps seemed as though they were out of 2006 sandbox game Garrys Mod.
Others speculated videos and co-ordinates surfacing online had been altered, writing: Theres no way this is real.
