Briar Cares oldest woman in the world hoax fools TikTok users again

TikTok can be somewhat of a breeding ground for hoaxes and rumours, and Briar Cares’ oldest woman in the world video has fooled plenty.

Racking up more than five million likes at the time of writing, a video alleging the oldest woman in the world is 399 years old is making the rounds on TikTok.

Of course the TikTok is completely false but the subject of the video is actually a real person and has been the victim of a hoax before…

Heres what we know.

Briar Cares 399-year-old woman TikTok is a hoax

TikTok user @briar_cares is going viral after posting a video falsely claiming the oldest woman in the world is 399 years old.

The TikTok has gained more than five million likes and over 190k comments as it continues to make the rounds online.

Although many have been fooled by the hoax and shared it as a result, others are taking to social media to debunk it.

One person commented: Come on, you dont all believe this.

Another wrote: There aint no way…

Several other TikTok accounts with large followings have also shared the video but, for reference, the oldest person alive right now is Kane Tanaka, who is 119 years old and lives in Japan.

The real person in the video is Luang Pho Yai

The person who fell victim to the TikTok hoax may not be a 399-year-old woman, but they do exist.

Briar Cares’ oldest woman is actually 109-year-old Luang Pho Yai, a monk.

Luang Pho Yai gained notability on TikTok after a picture of him was posted by his grandaughter @auyary13, who updates followers on his health.

109-year-old has been target of another TikTok hoax

Ever since he was introduced to the world of TikTok by his grandaughter, Luang Pho Yai has been the target of hoaxes.

Before Briar Cares oldest woman in the world TikTok, users were fooled into believing Luang Pho Yai was 163 years old after a viral video spread false information.

TikTok user @auyary13 soon cleared things up, however, and told followers he wasn’t that old!
