Was that Ziggy Marley on the Baby Shark float at the 2022 Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade?

Yes, that was really Ziggy Marley, the eldest son of Bob Marley, on the Baby Shark float as part of the 96th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade.

Marley appeared alongside his three sons, Gideon, Abraham, and Isaiah, who he shares with wife, Orly Agai. The couple are also parents to daughter Judah.

In one moment, the family performed one of Marley’s tracks Music Is In Everything, which featured on his 2020 album of the same name, that he worked on during the coronavirus pandemic. Music Is In Everything is also the title of Marley’s new children’s book, which hit the shelves this week.

Ahead of their parade appearance, the singer shared a sweet snap on Instagram alongside his sons as he noted they were “ready” to join the festivities:

Singer’s Baby Shark float feature was not on watchers’ ‘Thanksgiving parade bingo card’

Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Parade attracts millions of viewers wach year, with an estimated 25.4 million said to have tuned into celebrations on TV last year, as per Variety.

Of course, with many people across the US watching along with the parade today, social media is understandably also a buzz with reactions.

One particular moment that caught the attention of some was Ziggy Marley’s appearance, as many shared their surprise at his feature on a baby shark-themed float.

Reflecting on his appearance, one Twitter user quipped: “I did not have Ziggy Marley singing on the baby shark float on my Thanksgiving parade bingo card”

Another added: “Ziggy Marley on the Baby Shark float” is the most Mad Libs phrase I’ll hear I’ll day,” while a third echoed: “Ziggy Marley is on Baby Shark. What universe am I in.”

It’s not his only Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade feature over the years

Those who have watched Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade over the past decade may remember Marley featured in the celebrations back in 2009

As part of the 83rd annual celebrations, the singer performed his track Family Time with daughter Judah which featured on Marley’s album of the same name that was released the same year.

While Marley’s daughter didn’t feature alongside her father and brothers in this year’s parade, in 2009, she appeared alongside her dad on Macy’s classic Jolly Polly Pirate ship float.
