Days Of Our Lives’ Zach Tinker posted a heartfelt Mother’s Day Instagram post on Sunday, 8 May, which also happens to be his birthday. In the unearthed childhood snaps, Zach appears almost unrecognisable, so let’s explore the photo dump in more detail.

Tinker has been a soap staple since taking over the role of Sonny Kiriakis from Freddie Smith in 2021. Fans first met Tinker’s Sonny during DOOL spin-off series Beyond Salem. However, he has since made the jump on to DOOL’s main canvas.

Tinker is no stranger to the soap world as he had a recurring role as Fenmore Baldwin on The Young And The Restless. He also previously appeared in shows such as American Horror Story: 1984, Station 19, and Grey’s Anatomy. More recently he featured in 13 Reasons Why and the second season of Spectrum’s LA’s Finest.

Days Of Our Lives’ Zach Tinker unrecognisable in unearthed photos

In the photo slides, Zach can be seen in his younger years, proving he has had a big glow-up since! Tinker captioned the Instagram post: “Here’s to you, momma. Thanks for bringing me into this world on Mother’s Day. Everything I do is for you. I just want to make you proud. I love you.” Comments immediately flooded in wishing Zach a happy birthday and his mom, Lori, a happy Mother’s Day.

Lori gave birth to Zach on 8 May 1994 in New York. However, the family relocated to Los Angeles when he was only three years old. He has two brothers, Matt and Ben, who have children of their own, making Zach an uncle to two nephews and a niece.

Meet Zach Tinker’s family

Zach is the son of television producer and writer John Tinker and Lori Mozilo, who have since divorced and remarried. John Tinker wrote for hospital series St Elsewhere and Hallmark films such as When Calls The Heart.

Lori’s Linkedin account reveals she’s vice-president of original programming at Disney Junior and attended Binghamton University in New York. She lives with her husband in Los Angeles who, she said, makes her laugh every day.

In an interview with Marvel, Lori revealed her superpower of choice would be to fly, “like Captain Marvel, not with a device”. She also explained she is Italian and very family oriented. Therefore, her perfect day would start with “me and my husband doing a crossword together”. Followed by: “Maybe slide into baking or cooking something, listening to some music on vinyl or read a bit, a meal with friends or family, then an episode (or four) of something I’m into at the moment.”

Zach Tinker’s grandfather, Grant Tinker, was NBC’s chairman and chief executive during one of the biggest golden eras of television. Sadly, Tinker’s grandfather passed away in 2016 at the age of 90.
