Where is Tony Dokoupil on CBS This Morning and will he return?
However, Dokoupil has been absent from his widely popular position as co-anchor on the show since Wednesday, 1 December 2021.
Another CBS News correspondent, Vladimir Duthiers, has been filling in for Dokoupil, presenting the show alongside co-stars Nathaniel E Burleson and Gayle King.
Some viewers have started to speculate whether the CBS reporter is leaving the show for good but Dokoupil’s social media statement suggests he will be back on screen shortly.
Although the co-anchor has yet to confirm the reasons behind his absence, @tonydokoupil stated in the same quiet tweet that he will return to CBS next week.
Meet his temporary replacement
Vladimir Duthiers is a 51-year-old CBS News correspondent based in New York City who has been sitting in for Dokoupil since his absence.
As CBS colleagues, the pair seem to get on well as per their social media posts, which show them laughing together while at work.

Co-host was previously absent for paternity leave
Prior to his recent absence, Tony Dokoupil took parental leave from CBS This Morning in May 2021 after the birth of his second child with wife Katy Tur.
The reporter returned to his seat on the show in August 2021 and was welcomed back on social media by none other than Vladimir Duthiers.
