The show is the third instalment of The CW series The Vampire Diaries, and the spin-off of The Originals.
Legacies follows the adventures of the teenage daughter of The Originals’ main character Klaus, hybrid Hope Mikaelson, played by Danielle Rose Russell.

Legacies was filmed in Georgia – and apart from the house, the series is basically sharing the same filming locations as its predecessors.
What happened to the Salvatore house?
The new Salvatore Boarding School in Legacies is the Kent Rock Manor in Loganville, Ga., a large event venue.
But as for the first season of The Vampire Diaries, the original Salvatore Boarding School was filmed at the historic Glenridge Hall Mansion in Sandy Springs.

Despite a long list of passionate petitioners, the house formerly known as the Salvatore Boarding House was torn down in 2015.
The 14,000 square foot mansion was initially built in 1929 for Thomas K. Glenn and was later renovated by his granddaughter, Frances Mayson, and her husband Joseph.
Sadly, the house was later demolished by their daughter, Caroline, who ultimately sold the 76-acre estate to a homebuilding company

From the second season of TVD onwards, the building was reproduced in a set at the studio.
According to Distractify, showrunners used stock footage and set replicas to film footage of the Salvatores’ home.
