What happened to Mama on To Tell The Truth? The new series of To Tell The Truth has been airing every Tuesday on ABC. While fans are happy that the show has returned, there is one thing missing – Mama Doris. Host Anthony Anderson’s mum is a staple on the show and she hasn’t been making regular appearances. So, what happened?

What is To Tell The Truth?

To Tell The Truth is a reboot of the classic game show. Celebrity judges see if they can guess whether contestants are lying or telling the truth.

Each round, the panel of celebrities are presented with three people all claiming to be the same person with the same unique talent, incredible achievement or job.

Each person is interrogated by the panel and they have to decide who is telling the truth.

What happened to Mama Doris on To Tell The Truth?

Doris Hancox aka Mama Doris is the mother of actor Anthony Anderson who hosts To Tell The Truth. She also goes by the name of Doris Bowman.

Anderson is best known for his work on the show Black-ish but has also featured in Martin Scorsese’s The Departed, and hit blockbuster Transformers.

Mama Doris has worked on the To Tell The Truth as a scorekeeper after her hilarious appearance on Celebrity Family Feud in 2015. She is also well known for loving Bingo, even missing out on an opportunity to meet President Obama because she was playing bingo in Las Vegas.

However, many fans have been wondering what happened to Mama on the new series of To Tell The Truth as she has been absent for a few of the episodes.

Fans on Twitter were tweeting about how much they missed her.

The Good News is that Mama should be returning soon. She posted on her Instagram last week:

“Love that Y’all missed me last night on TTTT! Just getting a little rest… but Antnee carried right on through as he always does! 💙 my Son!!!!
But I’m right back to funny AND the Checks💲💵💰 next week!!”

However, although she promised to be back this week it looks like she will be taking a slightly longer break. We are sure she will be back with her incredible wit and humour as soon as possible.
