What happened to Alejandro from American Idol? It seems fans are not over American Idol season 17. Viewer favourite Alejandro Aranda’s name has been trending recently and everyone is wondering what happened to him after he left the show as runner up.

What happened to Alejandro from American Idol?

Alejandro Aranda, better known by his stage name Scarypoolparty, was a contestant on season 17 of American Idol.

Aranda made it to the finals as a runner up, leaving him in second place and Laine Hardy in first. Fans who had been rooting for Aranda to win are wondering where he is now.

Since leaving American Idol, Alejandro Aranda made a pretty successful name for himself. According to Good Housekeeping, “just two days after the finale, the artist announced his nationwide tour.”

But the show ended almost 2 years ago back in March 2019. So why is the 26 year old Californian singer trending now?

Why is Alejandro Aranda trending right now?

American Idol alumnus Alejandro is currently trending across social media again, as the latest season of show began airing on 14 February. The first week of auditions included talented singers such as Nia Renee, Claudia Conway, Danica Steakley and more.

During some of the auditions, judges would refer to Alejandro Aranda as the standard to which contestants should hold themselves. The mention of his name caused fans to reminisce on Twitter about their favourite contestant.

Scarypoolparty releases new song

Starting on 12 February, word began spreading across social media that Scarypoolparty – Aranda’s stage name and musical project – had released a new song called Home.

Released on 12 February, Home already has over 43K views on YouTube and has been liked over 3,000 times.

Alejandro posted about the song on his official page. It is available for listening on platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal.
