Fans of Q13 Fox News are going to miss spending their mornings with Travis Mayfield and are curious to know why he’s leaving the company on Friday.
Travis started his career in broadcast journalism on NBC’s Today Show in New York City. He then spent a year at KHQ-TV while attending Gonzaga University.
After graduating, Travis became a reporter and an anchor for NBC Montana.

Why is Travis Mayfield leaving Q13 Fox News?
Travis announced he would be leaving Q13 Fox news on Friday, 29 October after eight years on the show.
He confirmed he doesn’t have anything lined up professionally but is going to be a stay-at-home dad instead. He said he was thrilled to spend more time with his kids and husband.
Since joining KCBQ, Travis has worked in so many roles at the station – anchoring, breaking news, sports, feature reporting, business, sports, and even weather and traffic.

Travis has been very open and honest with his audience and shared his identity as a gay married dad. He also shared his grief when experiencing the loss of his son Tommy. Travis also shared the pain he went through when his dad, Kent Mayfield, was shot while working as a police veteran.
Travis has also been a silver lining for many people throughout the coronavirus pandemic. Fans of Travis will remember him for his crazy socks, great sense of humour, and laughs with Liz and Bill.
Reminiscing about the show, Travis said one memory that stood out was when he hilariously helped Kaci Aitchison draw a ‘cannon’ on live television. To conclude, he reminded fans that even though he won’t be on their screen each morning, he would always be with them in spirit.

Who is Travis Mayfield
Travis was born in Oregon and raised in Port Orchard, Washington. He now lives in Seattle’s Montlake neighbourhood with his family and their dog.
His 42-year-old father was one of two Bremerton police officers who were shot and injured in a gunfight at Lions Park.
Kent has given 27 years of service with the Bremerton Police Department. Kent was shot twice in the abdomen but has made a full recovery.
On 9 April 2016 Travis’ two-and-a-half-year-old son Tommy was taken to the Children’s Hospital in Seattle. After having a cold for a few days, his nose started to bleed during a nap. Things took a turn for the worse in the hospital and the toddler tragically passed away.
