Comedian Michael McIntyre is bringing new BBC game show The Wheel to BBC One on Saturday nights. Here’s how to apply for The Wheel.
Michael McIntyre to host new BBC game show
In July, the BBC announced British comedian Michael McIntyre would host their new Saturday evening gameshow, The Wheel.
The production company behind the “feel-good” gameshow, Hungry McBear, said it was “delighted” at the news. Here’s how the company describes The Wheel…
“Think of the most exciting funfair ride, put the world’s best comedian at the centre of it and throw in a collection of brilliant celebrity experts… welcome to The Wheel. Truly amazing fun, laughter and tension for the whole family.”
Audiences can catch the first episodes of The Wheel from 28 November. Episodes are an hour long and the first series will run for ten weeks.
Host Michael McIntyre said: “I am thrilled to be hosting a show that does reinvent the wheel!

“I simply can’t wait to get behind the wheel. I’m dizzy with excitement!”
How to apply for The Wheel
To apply for The Wheel, all you need to do is email [email protected]. All applicants must be over 18. If you email this address you should receive an automatic reply with more details.
Hungry McBear is a subsidiary of Hungry Bear, so email correspondence goes directly to Hungry Bear.
Hungry Bear put a call out specifically for Scottish contestants for the game show in September.
A spokeswoman for the company said: “We’re searching for fun, confident and outgoing people who think they have the knowledge to take on The Wheel.”
However, the window for applications closed on 1 October.
To be considered for the next round of contestants, be sure to check the BBC’s Take Part In One Of Our Shows website. This is where the BBC advertises for members of the public to apply.
Hungry Bear Casting’s Twitter handle also posts the production company’s latest opportunities. However, their latest posts are more than two years old. Nevertheless, this may be the best way to get news as and when it happens.
Alternatively, Facebook page Hungry Bear Casting is more up to date.
