After almost two decades with ABC, Stacey Baca has announced she’s leaving the Chicago team.

Stacey Baca announces she’s leaving ABC7
On Sunday morning (1 May 2022), Stacey Baca made the announcement that she would be leaving the ABC7 Chicago team.
Stacey Baca said:
“I have exciting news I want to share with all of you first. I have made a bold, life-changing decision to leave one of the best jobs at the best news station in Chicago… I kept coming to the same conclusion, over and over. Now is the right time.”
Baca joined the network back in 2002. Prior to that, Baca worked in Norfolk, Virginia reporting and anchoring the Saturday and Sunday morning newscasts at WTKR-TV from 1996 to 1998. Next Baca worked at KNSD in San Diego from 1999 to 2002.

Why is Stacey Baca leaving?
In her announcement, Stacey Baca revealed that she is looking to spend more time with her family after leaving ABC7.
“My husband and I want to spend more time together, more time with our family and friends. We want to have Sunday brunch with our parents, watch our niece and nephew play sports on a Saturday morning, and travel while we’re healthy,” Baca explained. She simply added: “More life, less work.”
Stacey Baca concluded by adding that her last day on-air will be 26 June 2022. So, you can expect Baca reporting your weekend news for a while longer!
