We really do have the best of both worlds, Selena Gomez has just dropped the season 4 trailer for Selena + Chef and fans are just realising that she filmed the new season at Hannah Montana’s house.
Hilariously, Gomez’s breakout Disney Channel role was in 2007, when she had a recurring role on Hannah Montana as a rival pop star named Mikayla.
Whilst we may have to wait until the season premieres on the 18th of August to get a deeper insight into the house, let’s take a look at what we know so far.
Selena + Chef is back and it’s set at Hannah Montana’s house
Past seasons have taken place at Gomez’s own home in Los Angeles. However, this season she’s heading to the same Malibu beach house that featured on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, as confirmed by a rep for HBO Max.
Ahead of the HBO Max cooking series return, Selena Gomez decided to ring in season 4 by welcoming fans to the show’s new location: “Hey y’all, join me at the beach for Selena + Chef season 4,” she says, standing in front of surfboards and a white fence.
True Montana lovers will have recognised that picket fence from a mile off. But when the camera cuts to the front of the Malibu house where the Stewart family resided, our sneaky suspicions were confirmed.
The list of celebrity chefs confirmed to cook up a storm in Gomez’s kitchen this season includes; Adrienne Cheatham, Nick DiGiovanni, Devonn Francis, Kristen Kish, Priya Krishna, Ludo Lefebvre, Matty Matheson, Gordon Ramsay, Rachael Ray and Paola Velez.
Whilst Miley Cyrus has since delved into singing and might not be an all-star chef, fans have their fingers and toes crossed that she makes a surprise guest appearance on the show. If Hannah Montana returns home, then that truly would be a full-circle moment.
Here’s why the Malibu house looks familiar
The house is actually a popular filming location for HBO productions. As the seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion was also home to Reese Witherspoon’s character Madeline on HBO’s Big Little Lies.
It also featured in Dick Van Dyke’s Diagnosis Murder, but if you remember the interior of the house looking different that’s because Hannah Montana’s production used a stage set instead of filming inside the house.
The house is located on Broad Beach Road which is only five miles away from central Malibu and is available to rent. Although, you’ll have to have some Hannah Montana type of cash to splash as rates start at $3,000 a night or $100,000 for an entire month, as per House Beautiful.
