V Magazine recently featured a bunch of upcoming stars who have given the industry the diversity it needed. The article was written by Heidi Slimane who ‘Points His Lens Toward The Latest Generation Of Cinema Stars’ and it landed on Sasha Calle. In the article, it features a black-and-white image of The Flash actor and a section of text where Calle talks about representation in the industry:
“Representation in the entertainment industry really matters, and I’m super honoured, honestly (to be the first Latina Supergirl). There was a moment when we were shooting, when Andy (The Flash director Andrés Muschietti) was like, ‘Hey, come over here and watch this scene on the playback monitor.’ And I go over and I see her (Supergirl) and she’s in her full glory.
“And suddenly I got really emotional because I’m looking at that, and I’m like, ‘Wow, I wish I would have had this when I was little.’ It meant a lot to me. I turned into child Sasha watching this person (on the screen). So it’s really important. And I’m really happy and really thankful to DC and Warner Brothers for doing this now. It’s so cool we’re doing this, and, ya know, it’s about time.”

Sasha Calle’s role on Y&R explored
Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) death has meant his sister’s name has come up quite a bit, especially as there’s no members of the Rosales family left on the show.
As there’s no Rosales left on-screen, there’s not much reason for Lola to return, especially as she’s hitting the big screens. Calle is starring as Supergirl in two upcoming films, so watch out for her big break!
