Who is Regé-Jean Page from Bridgerton?

Regé-Jean Page is an actor best known for his roles in Mortal Engines, Waterloo Road, For The People and Roots.

He was born in Zimbabwe and moved to London at the age of 14.

Page has stage acting experience, performing as Crowther in the History Boys at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre and Solanio in the Shakespeare’s Globe production of The Merchant Of Venice in 2015.

He trained at the Identity School Of Acting and at the Drama Centre, graduating in 2013. He also was part of the prestigious National Youth Theatre in the UK.

Bridgerton is a big role for Regé-Jean Page, marking his Netflix debut.

The story of Bridgerton follows wealthy families in Regency-era London, where gossip is rife and everyone is looking for the perfect match for their daughter.

The series is based on the eponymous series of romance novels by Julia Quinn. Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor, makes her society debut, but, unlike many of her peers, wishes to marry her true-love match.

In Bridgerton, Regé-Jean Page plays Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings. He is considered the most eligible bachelor in town and is at the centre of much of the show’s intrigue. However, he doesn’t want to settle down or take a wife.

The attraction between Duke Simon Bassett and Daphne Bridgerton is undeniable and we can’t wait to see just what the series has in store for the couple.

The Bridgerton cast includes names like Nicola Coughlan, Adjoa Andoh and Ben Miller, and the series is narrated by Dame Julie Andrews. Talk about class!
