Netflix is back again with another compelling sports documentary, as true crime and sport intersect in an upcoming six-parter. Here’s the release date for Netflix’s Bad Sport, as well as plot details, trailer and more.

Bad Sport – plot details and more

Netflix is continuing its release of gripping sports documentaries following the hugely successful Last Chance U, The Last Dance, Untold, and many more.

The latest addition to the genre is Bad Sport – a series that chronicles sportspeople who disgrace their sporting fraternity.

The official plot reads: “Bad Sport looks at six unbelievable stories at the intersection of sports and crime as told by the athletes, coaches and law enforcement officials at the centre of the controversies.

“Episodes include the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic figure-skating scandal; superstar Indycar driver Randy Lanier’s marijuana-smuggling operation; the Arizona State University basketball point-shaving scheme; the horse hitman at the centre of an insurance fraud ring; Calciopoli, the biggest match-fixing scandal in Italian football history; and South African cricket captain Hansie Cronje’s tragic fall from grace.”

The six stories will be told by different filmmakers

Bad Sport has recruited six filmmakers to bring the stories to life.

The directors are Luke Sewell, Miles Blaydon-Ryall, Alex Kiehl, Lizzie Kempton, Georgina Cammalleri and James House.

Netflix’s Bad Sport: release date revealed

The official release date for Netflix’s Bad Sport is 6 October 2021.

It isn’t currently known whether the episodes will air weekly or if they’ll be available to stream in full from the outset.
