Michelle Tuzee addresses health in Facebook post

Earlier today, ABC7 co-anchor Michelle Tuzee took to Facebook to talk about her health issues, and her absence from the ABC7 news desk over the past few months.

She wrote that this month marked her 23rd anniversary with the broadcaster, and said it had been a “huge honor” to work beside colleague Marc Brown.

Marc Brown shared his thoughts via Twitter, saying he “will miss working with you, Mich. Fight On!”

In her Facebook post, Tuzee explained that she had been forced to step back from her anchor role due to “health issues”, which remain unnamed for now. But she assured fans not to worry about her and put out a call for her followers to “keep in touch”.

“I want to know how YOU are doing. We all have our own struggles and if we can be here for each other, it helps.”

Colleague Rob Fukuzaki and George Pennacchio commented on the post, praising Tuzee for her professionalism and kindness. Pennacchio wrote: “I adore you.”

Since she posted it, Michelle’s thread has accumulated 654 comments at time of writing. Many are from followers and fans expressing their congratulations, heartfelt wishes and sadness that Tuzee is stepping away from anchor duties.

On Twitter, too, Tuzee’s fans wished her a speedy recovery and expressed wishes of good health. Tuzee has been a fixture for many viewers for over two decades.
