Schulenburg’s husband is fellow actor Zack Robidas, who you may know as TV journalist Mark Ravenhead on HBO’s Succession. The couple married in September 2013 and share two-year-old daughter Coda. Marnie was diagnosed with cancer just five months after Coda’s birth in December 2019. Her husband confirmed her passing in a Facebook post on Wednesday, 18 May and reported by Variety.

Marnie’s last social media post was a heartbreaking tribute to daughter Coda as she told fans she had managed to be released from hospital to spend Mother’s Day in the US with her family.

“It’s not my ideal to be a 38-year-old mom who needs an oxygen tank to survive right now. I want to be strong and beautiful for her,” she wrote in the caption.

“I know that me being here for Coda is the best gift I can give her but right now it feels like settling since she’s getting a half-life version of myself. My mother showed up 100 per cent all day every day for me growing up, or at least it seemed that way. I want to give Coda the same, but I must be kind to myself and remember that nothing is permanent.”

Marnie Schulenburg’s legacy and career explored

Marnie made her daytime debut as Alison Stewart in 2007 during a crossover between As The World Turns and The Young And The Restless. She then joined the main cast of As The World Turns appearing in more than 300 episodes and was nominated for Outstanding Younger Actress at the 2010 Daytime Emmys.

The same year the daytime drama was cancelled but Schulenburg reunited via Zoom with her ATWT co-stars in 2020 during the pandemic on YouTube channel The Locher Room.

She went on to appear in Prospect Park’s reboot of One Life To Live as Sullivan when the ABC show returned as a web series on Hulu in 2013. From 2014 to 2017, she starred in another soap-related show, Tainted Dreams, which followed the backstage drama of a soap opera cast.

Aside from her roles on daytime television, Schulenburg also appeared on TV series such as Blue Bloods, Royal Pains, Elementary, The Good Fight, and City On A Hill.
