The legend Janet Jackson is about to share her life with fans in a four hour documentary that will be released over two evenings. However, fans are wondering if the Janet Jackson documentary will be available on Netflix. We take a closer look at where you can watch this new programme and when it arrives on your favourite streaming platform.

What the new Janet Jackson documentary about?

The documentary’s working title at the moment is JANET and will give viewers “unprecedented access to the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s life, and an intimate, honest and unfiltered look at the untold story of one of the highest-earning artists in music history.”

Janet Jackson is a notoriously private person so it came as a surprise to many fans that she agreed to film and share so much of her life.

The documentary is directed by Ben Hirsh and was filmed over the course of three years. Jackson herself was one of the producers on the project.

The documentary will go into the death of the singer’s father, Joe Jackson, as well as her return to performing and to the stage, among other personal topics.

Jackson will also be discussing her infamous 2004 Superbowl performance, the death of brother Michael Jackson and her family life.

Is the Janet Jackson documentary on Netflix?

At the moment it appears that the Janet Jackson documentary will not be available on Netflix.

The documentary is going to air on Lifetime and A+E in 2022, as this coincides with the 40th anniversary of Jackson’s first album.

The self-titled first album was released on 21 September 1982 so we could be looking at a September 2022 release date.

Who is Janet Jackson dating now?

It appears that the Together Again singer is single at the moment. She is notoriously private about her personal life.

Janet Jackson has one son called Eissa with ex-husband Wissam Al Mana. The pair split in 2017 after five years of marriage.

Jackson was 50 years old when she had her son and calls him “the greatest gift of all”.

We can’t wait to watch this documentary and get to know our favourite music icon even better. We just wish it wasn’t a year away!
