Actor Isabel May’s family life
Isabel May was born to her parents on 21st November 2000 in Santa Monica, California. May has confessed that she likes to keep her family life rather private; “I have such an amazing family and a pretty private life,” May told Bello Magazine.
Her parents have massively supported her pursuit of acting and she was also encouraged by her sixth-grade teacher to go into the entertainment industry. Following three years of unsuccessful auditions, May had the support of her parents to never give up. By tenth grade, Isabel’s parents let her begin online schooling so she could give more of her time to acting. This worked a treat as six months later, she landed the lead role of Katie in Netflix’s Alexa and Katie and her career blew up from there.
Isabel and Elsa share some similarities in that she grew up surrounded by ranches in Southern California. Their only difference is that May never actually went to the ranches. The actor told Entertainment Weekly that she didn’t know how to horse ride before landing the role in 1883 but quickly picked it up.

Before landing the part in 1883 Isabel May auditioned for a different Taylor Sheridan project. She may have got rejected from the role but Sheridan didn’t forget about the talented actor. He decided to contact her two weeks after the audition to tell her that he had a part that suited her better. This part happened to be Elsa for 1883. May told Town and Country Magazine about the phone call she received; “he [Sheridan] called and said, ‘I haven’t written it yet, but you are Elsa and I want you to be Elsa,’”
Aside from her role in 1883, you may recognise Isabel May for starring as Katie Cooper on the Netflix series Alexa & Katie or as Veronica Duncan on the CBS series Young Sheldon.
