You may have seen a trailer or poster for Maxxx and thought “hang on, that’s only our very own Craig David”?
If that’s the case, we’re sorry to say you’re sorely mistaken! In fact, Maxxx is played by Craig David lookalike O-T Fagbenle.
Craig David recently signed a publishing deal that has kept him busy. He now works with New York company Round Hill Music.
Who is Craig David’s lookalike?
This isn’t the first time people have mistaken Fagbenle for Craig David. Los Angeles Times wrote: “O-T Fagbenle was standing outside a train station when he was first mistaken for singer-songwriter Craig David.”
O-T Fagbenle not only stars in Maxxx, he also created it! Fagbenle was born in London in 1981. His full name is Olatunde Olateju Olaolorun Fagbenle.
He has starred in many well known TV series, starting out in EastEnders and Hollyoaks and working his way up to The Handmaid’s Tale.
According to IMDB, he has been named one of Backstage magazine’s 30 actors to watch.
What is Maxxx about?
Maxxx is a Channel 4 television series. The synopsis states: “Hilariously outrageous comedy that takes a cringe-inducing peek behind the pop world’s curtain as former boyband star turned tabloid laughing stock Maxxx tries to relaunch his music career.”
The series, released on 29 October 2020 follows Maxxx through six episodes, each episode running between 21 and 24 minutes.
