In 1982, when Chris was 12 years old, his father was elected as the Governor of New York. Almost 30 years later, Chris’s older brother Andrew followed in his father’s footsteps and took his place as the mayor of New York in 2010.

In 1995, Chris Cuomo graduated with a law degree from Fordham university, which led to a successful stint working as a Wall Street lawyer. However, Chris eventually found the work unsatisfying and shifted his attention to pursuing a career in journalism.

In a talk he gave at his former university, the Cuomo Prime Time host explained to students that his law degree gave him an advantage in reporting: “Because I came in with the acumen that you all will be armed with, I was better at understanding investigative situations than other people”.

Meet Cuomo’s wife and family

In 2001, Chris Cuomo married magazine editor Christina Greeven. The couple have two daughters, Bella and Carolina and a son, Mario.

In the spring of 2020, on 31 March, Cuomo announced via Twitter that he had tested positive for covid-19 and had begun showing symptoms. The news anchor explained that he was in at-home quarantine, confined to his basement.

That same evening on Cuomo Prime Time, he told viewers that he felt fine but the hard part was not being able to be a husband and father to his wife and children.
