Is Chance dead on Y&R? After being presumed dead in a supposed bombing, fans are wondering if there is any possibility that Chance Chancellor will be returning to the show. We take a look at the rumours surrounding his return.

What happened to Chance?

Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) got married to Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) quite soon after they started dating. The pair really wanted a child together but Abby was unable to conceive naturally. They asked Mariah Copeland to be their surrogate, but it was also revealed that Chance had a lower sperm count and he couldn’t give her a child.

Chance then got a strange phone call, and when Abby came home that night she found that her husband had disappeared. As Chance worked for the CGPD she was told he had gone on a top-secret mission.

It was then revealed that Chance was supposed to have been killed in a bombing in the building where he was working undercover. They even found his heirloom watch. However, Abby is adamant that he wouldn’t have been wearing this undercover as it would make him identifiable.

Another twist is that Abby had a son called Dominic via surrogate, but Chance is yet to meet him!

Is Chance really dead on Y&R?

Many on the show believe that Chance was killed in a bombing. However, Abby has always believed that he is not dead, arguing that they have a deep connection and he doesn’t ‘feel’ dead to her.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry Amelia Heinle, who plays Victoria Newman, shared an Instagram photo which seemed to show a welcome home party for Chance. In the now deleted photo his name was thought to have been seen on all the decorations.

There is a real possibility that Chance could be returning soon to The Young And The Restless. However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

Is Connor Floyd joining The Young And The Restless?

There are multiple rumours floating around that actor Connor Floyd will be taking over the role of Chance Chancellor from Donny Boaz.

Melissa Ordway, who plays Abby Newman, has followed the actor on Instagram. While this could simply be a coincidence, Donny Boaz has officially left the show. He said in an Instagram post in February:

“I was told that Chance is NOT being replaced or killed off. He’s just not gonna be there anymore. Overall, I am grateful and thankful for this amazing opportunity. I know that I’m walking away from this better at my craft than before I started. 108 episodes.”

Although Boaz was informed that his character was not going to be recast, sometimes writer’s on soaps choose to bring people back to enhance the story arc.
