She said: “Now is my time to see what’s out there for me. I had already decided this was going to be my last contract, but when they finished the story of Quinn and Carter coming together, it seemed like the right time.”

She added: “I want to move forward with my life, into the scary unknown.”

Inside Rena’s final days

Over on her official Instagram account, Rena has been keeping her fans in the loop about her final days at work.

On August 16, she shared a picture of the gorgeous bouquets of flowers she’d been presented with on her last day on the set.

She posted: “August 5, 2022 was a very big day for me. More to come…….”

Opening up about leaving, she said she understood that it would be a “heartbreaking” decision for some.

She shared a picture of the front cover of Soap Opera Digest magazine that included a teaser for her exclusive interview within the pages.

She penned: “Friday August 5 was not just my daughters birthday but the end of my 9year run as Quinn on @boldandbeautifulcbs I did a lovely exit interview with my friend Carolyn for @soapdigest which goes on sale on Friday!

“I know it’s heartbreaking for some and it is for me as well, but it’s time for me to move on with both my acting career and my pottery career. Thank you all for your support over the last 9 years and in the future! And check out for the other side of my life!!”

Rena also shared a video which showed her sitting in a make up chair behind the scenes as she gushed about the “four young women” who work in the hair department.

She said she wanted to thank them for making her final months on the show “really fun”.

Rena hand-made personalized mugs for the team, showing them off and explaining the special designs she had created for each of them.

She also made special gifts for her main male co-stars John McCook, who plays her once secret lover Eric, and Lawrence Saint-Victor, who plays her love interest Carter.

She wrote in a post: “As my days of appearing on @boldandbeautifulcbs start running down I wanted to share a gift I made for @johntmccook with you all. Working with John was one of the great highlights in my 35 year career as an actress.

“I love him so much and he has the kindest heart I have ever known. Thank you Brad Bell for putting #Queric together and letting me bask in the glow of McCookie for so many years!! And thank you all for your amazing support !”

Another wrote: “You will be missed. Thank you for all the “Quinn years” and I wish you the best in all that you do.”

And one said: “Sad sad sad! I loved Quinn!!!! It seems the powers that be always make some of the dumbest decisions. Characters like yours is what keeps me invested! If I have to just sit through the boring Brooke and her destiny BS over and over and over without the Quinn’s of BB, I am done!! You are talented and will be missed!!”

“I’m happy for you but miserable for the show,” one fan wrote. “You were one of the people who gave life to the show although turning you into a semi good girl never really worked. Best of luck. Just hope they didn’t kill your character off”.
