After Conan O’Brien featured on this week’s SNL, fans shared their hope the comedian will host the show again in the future.

In Saturday’s edition of Saturday Night Live, John Mulaney celebrated his fifth time hosting in a sketch as he was joined by familiar faces including Tina Fey, Paul Rudd and Steve Martin.

Conan O’Brien also made an appearance in the sketch, with some now wondering about his past features on the show while others have called for the comedian to host again.

Conan O’Brien hosted SNL more than two decades ago

Conan O’Brien made his hosting debut on the popular comedy sketch show in 2001 when he was joined by musical guest Don Henley.

O’Brien’s feature has been his only time as SNL host to date, although he did appear on the show once again in 2006 as Steve Martin hosted for his 14th time.

While he has only hosted SNL once, O’Brien is well known for hosting his own talk shows, including Late Night With Conan O’Brien and, more recently, Conan.

Fans want the comedian to host SNL again

Following his feature in the Five-Timers Club sketch, fans have shared their hopes for the comedian to host an upcoming show on Twitter:

Conan was previously a writer for SNL

Before hosting the series in 2001, Conan O’Brien had worked across three seasons on the comedy show as a writer.

As per the comedian’s IMDb page, O’Brien was a writer on more than 70 episodes between 1987 and 1991. During his time as a writer, he also made appearances in the background of sketches.

One of the first sketches featured in on SNL was Skeleton, which aired in 1988 when John Lithgow hosted.
