After almost three decades as part of KPRC 2, anchor Dominique Sachse announced today she’s leaving the station at the end of October. Fans are curious to know Dominique Sachse’s age as she gets ready to retire from television.
Who is Dominique Sachse?
Dominique Sachse is a journalist known to many as a member of the KPRC 2 news team. The beloved KPRC 2 anchor joined the Houston station in 1993 as a traffic reporter and ensured more on-screen time following a successful stint as a fill-in anchor.
Sachse started her career in broadcasting when she joined Metro Traffic Control after graduating from the University of Houston. As part of the network she reported for a number of stations, including KLOL and KHMX, which later hired her as a DJ.
Away from her role on-screen, Sachse has become known as a lifestyle YouTuber and posts weekly videos on everything from make-up to fashion on her channel, which has more than 1.5 million subscribers.

Why is she leaving KPRC 2?
It was announced today (Thursday, 30 September) that Dominique Sachse is leaving her role at KPRC 2 after 28 years at the station.
It seems Sachse is leaving her role at KPRC 2 to take on “new endeavours“. According to Click Houston, the anchor will continue building her YouTube channel while writing a book, which is set to be released in April 2022.
Talking about her departure from TV, Sachse explained: “I have spent most of my adult life at KPRC, and the staff here are like family to me.”
She added: “It takes a team effort to produce a quality news product, and I’m so proud of this team’s character, integrity, and accomplishments. But it’s mainly service to community, which is how I’ve always seen my role and will continue to do so in my new endeavours.”

How old is Dominique Sachse?
She revealed her birth year in a ‘20 things you don’t know about me’ interview for the Houston Chronicle in 2019. While discussing where she was born, she explained: “Although most people think I’m a native Houstonian, I was actually born in Miami, Florida, in 1967.”
KPRC 2 celebrated the anchor’s 54th birthday in a post on Twitter, which read: “Happy Birthday @KPRC2Dominique! You are Houston through and through. Houston, let’s give some love to Dominique, y’all!!”
