Ricarlo Flanagan as Davey in Shameless
The multi-talented entertainer was a triple threat: working as a comedian, rapper and actor. Flanagan’s most notable role was Davey in Shameless. Since his appearance only lasted for four episodes in season 8, many viewers may have forgotten his character.
A fan on Reddit says Davey was Debbie’s friend, who she worked with welding.
Aside from the hit Showtime series, Flanagan had one-episode appearances in comedy series Room 104, Kidding and Disney+ series Walk The Prank. He portrayed security guards and delivery men, so if shows needed someone for heavy lifting, Flanagan was the go-to.
After moving to Detroit in 2006 to further his entertainment career, he released a comedy album, Manlaw, followed by three more under the moniker Father Flanagan.
The rapper was scheduled to release his latest offering, Both Sides Of The Brain, soon but due to the shocking news it’s unknown whether it will still drop.
A GoFundMe has been started by his family to transport his body back to his native Cleveland, Ohio, from Los Angeles, where he lived at the time of his death.
