The Chestnut Man on Netflix
Netflix’s new Nordic series The Chestnut Man (Kastanjemanden) arrived on the streaming platform on Wednesday, 29 September.
Based on the debut novel by The Killing creator Søren Sveistrup, The Chestnut Man is a chilling psychological thriller.
The six-episode series opens with the discovery of the brutal murder of a family on an isolated farm in 1987.
More than 30 years later, in present day Copenhagen, a young woman is found murdered in a playground with one of her hands missing.
According to Forbes, Detective Naia Thulin (Danica Curcic) and her reluctant new partner Mark Hess (Mikkel Boe Følsgaard) are assigned to the case.
By the mutilated body they discover a tiny figurine made from chestnuts.
A mysterious piece of evidence is soon found on the chestnut man – the fingerprint of a missing girl, the daughter of politician Rosa Hartung (Iben Dorner).
