The Bold And The Beautiful’s Courtney Hope has been spotted sporting a small but very meaningful neck tattoo which proves she is a strong independent woman and a fighter.

From her time as Sally Spectra on B&B to taking the character over to Genoa City on The Young And The Restless, Hope has continued to impress fans both on and off-screen.

Devoted fans are always keen to know every last detail about their favourite soap icon. This personal tattoo is something you just have to know the meaning behind.

In honour of Courtney Hope’s 33rd birthday today, August 15, we take a look at her tattoos. We’ve found they say a lot about who she is as a person.

One fan who was curious to know what Hope’s neck tattoo means asked the actress, “I noticed you have a tattoo on the back of your neck on Y&R. Can I ask what it says? I was trying to see several times but was unable to”. Courtney responded to the question by stating, “it says Fighter.”

The term ‘fighter’ accurately describes Courtney, as she has certainly been through a lot in her 33 years of life. From her path to finding soap opera fame to her broken-down romance with Chad Duell and her heartbreaking family tragedy where her older brother passed away.

Courtney Hope’s tattoos explored

Many of Hope’s tattoos have a heartwarming meaning behind them and the actress is also into special numerical significances. Courtney shared with followers that she has her angel numbers tattooed on her arm. She even honoured them in a post shared on Instagram on February 22, 2022.

Hope explained, “My angel numbers tattooed on my arm, brought to life the whole day,” which is “the day I’ve been waiting for for so long.”

The actress revealed she saw it as a “powerful day for alignment, purpose, expansion and connection… a clearer path to enlightenment.”

The actress also has a bunch of other tattoos dotted around her body, including one on her foot, ribcage and wrist.

Older brother’s tragic passing

Hope has an angel wing tattoo on her wrist which many fans believe is in tribute to her older brother, DJ, who tragically passed away during her childhood.

DJ fell from a cliff whilst stargazing when he was around 25 years old. He “broke every bone in his body” and later became addicted to the painkillers he was on following the accident.

Courtney told General Hospital’s Maurice Benard, on his podcast State Of Mind her brother “got addicted to painkillers and then just eventually – they don’t know if it was that or he relapsed with something else.”

Hope has also had her fair share of heartbreak when it comes to her love life. In 2016, Courtney began dating fellow soap star, Chad Duell. Michael Corinthos’ portrayer got down on one knee on Valentine’s Day 2021 and the pair later married in a Till Death-themed wedding in Malibu in October 2021.

In a shocking turn of events, they announced their split just two months later in December 2021 with Duell calling it “a complicated situation”, revealing that they “didn’t actually sign anything. We weren’t really, like, you know, married or anything.”

Despite experiencing a horrific family tragedy and a broken heart, Hope remains optimistic. She often spreads positivity online, her ‘fighter’ tattoo certainly reigns true.
