Brian Hallisay is a 42-year-old actor from Washington DC known for his roles as Will Davis in the CW drama series Privileged and Kyle Parks in the Lifetime drama series The Client List.

It was during the latter where sparks began flying between him and Jennifer Love Hewitt, also 42, in 2012. But according to Hello, the pair actually first met on the set of unsuccessful NBC series Love Bites a year earlier.

Things moved quickly after that. In June 2013 the pair announced that Jennifer was pregnant and they were engaged. Within five months they were married and had welcomed their first child, Autumn. Less than two years later, the happy couple welcomed their second child, Atticus.

“We had always been open to a third, but definitely didn’t think in the crazy year that the entire world was having that it would necessarily be this moment,” Jennifer told People exclusively on 18 May 2021, confirming that she and Brian are expecting baby number three.

Brian, who also starred in the series Revenge as Ben Hunter, worked on Wall Street after graduating from college. “I was slaving away at that and I had a really good time with it, but it got to the point where I said, ‘You know, I had always dreamed about seeing what acting was all about,'” he said.

Who did Brian Hallisay play in 911?

Acting worked out well for Brian. He made his television debut in 2005, appearing on Fox’s The Inside with Rachel Nichols and Adam Baldwin, as well as Lifetime’s Strong Medicine, opposite Patricia Richardson.

Between 2018 and 2019, he appeared in three episodes of 9-1-1 playing Doug Kendall, ex-husband of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s character Maddie Kendall.

As well as appearing physically on screen, Brian provided voiceovers for the season two opener Under Pressure, penultimate episode Chimney Begins and season three’s Christmas spirit.

The show follows the lives of fictional Los Angeles first responders. Brian’s character is Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at a hospital.

Did the couple’s characters cross paths? What happened to Doug in 911?

They met, and Doug met his end. “It was just lovely to go to work together,” Jennifer told Entertainment Tonight Canada in 2019. She continued: “We both had never been able to play characters like this in our careers, these characters with dark, twisted things to them. And, so, that’s been really fun for us.”

Maddie Kendall came face to face with her abusive, estranged husband, Doug in April 2019. The episode, titled Fight or Flight, followed the aftermath of Doug kidnapping Maddie from her apartment and stabbing Chimney, played by Kenneth Choi, and leaving him for dead.

The episode culminated in a battle in the snow between a fire-poker wielding Maddie, and her ex husband. She frees herself from Doug by killing him in self-defence.

“There were definitely some moments where it was like, ‘Wow, I have not handled this part of myself since I was like 18 in I Know What You Did Last Summer,’” Hewitt told TheWrap in an interview ahead of the episode, referencing the horror flick that saw her shoot to fame in 1997.
