WISH’s Brenna Donnelly anchored her last show as part of the Indianapolis station today (Sunday 31 October), having announced this was her last week at WISH on Friday (29 October). Now viewers are curious to know where Brenna Donnelly plans to go next after leaving the news station.

Is Brenna Donnelly leaving WISH?

Yes. Brenna Donnelly announced she would be leaving her role at WISH on Friday (29 October) in a post across her Instagram and Facebook. The news comes as the anchor Donnelly celebrated four years as part of the Indianapolis station in July.

Looking back on her time across TV news, she revealed she would be “signing off” to focus more time on her family and son Cedric who she welcomed last year.

Taking to the comments on Instagram, WISH viewers and colleges, including Hanna Mordoh and Sierra Hignite, admitted they were going to miss her on their screens.

Where is Brenna Donnelly going next?

While announcing her departure from WISH, Brenna Donnelly revealed she is leaving the world of TV news. Instead, Donnelly revealed she will start a new position with healthcare organisation Ascension St Vincent in November.

Talking of her new role, Donnelly admitted it features daytime hours, which means she can spend more time with her family.

The beloved anchor hinted she may return to TV again in the future, but for now wants to focus on her family. She explained: “I may go back to TV journalism, but for now, I’m signing off and signing onto a more stable adventure for my family.”

Anchor’s career explored

Brenna Donnelly, who is a Bringham Young University graduate, started her broadcasting career in 2010 when she interned for National Geographic.

She went on to intern for a number of different local stations, including CBS affiliated stations KPHO and KUTV as well as the Fox News Channel, before landing her first anchor role on Wichita Falls station KFDX.

Donnelly worked as part of the NBC affiliate for two years before she later joined her current team at WISH as a weekend anchor and senior reporter.
