Who is Alex Moffat’s wife, Caroline Rau? Moffat recently stepped in to play Joe Biden on SNL following Jim Carrey’s departure from the role. We take a closer look at the comedian’s personal life and meet his wife, comedian Caroline Rau.
Who is Alex Moffat?
Actor and comedian Alex Moffat was born on 25 March 1982 in Chicago, Illinois. He went on to attend Denison University in Ohio.
Moffat joined SNL in 2016 as a featured player but upgraded to a main cast member in 2018. He has played Eric Trump, Prince William and Chris Hemsworth among many more.
His acting credits include Billions, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Heads Will Roll and Netflix’s Holidate.
Due to Jim Carrey stepping down as Joe Biden impersonator, Moffatt snapped up the chance to play this major role. You can take a look at his debut as Joe Biden here.
Who is Alex Moffat’s wife?
Alex Moffat’s wife is fellow comedian Caroline Rau, aka Caroline Kingsley for work. Rau runs a one-woman show called The Violet Hour, where she stars as Winifred Coombe.
It seems that Rau isn’t active on social media as herself and the only account we could find belongs to her comedic “alter-dimensional-ego” (as she calls it), Winnifred.
Winnifred describes herself as a spiritualist, magician and inter-dimensional spacetime traveller. She recently had actor and comedian Alan Cumming on The Violet Hour as a guest.
Moffat even joined his wife for a performance on The violet Hour.
Moffat and Rau were married on 19 August 2017 after becoming engaged the previous spring, on 21 March 2016.
The Instagram account for Rau’s alter ego Winnifred Coombe posted this Instagram picture of a big announcement.
If the news is true in Caroline and Alex’s universe too – not just in Winnifred’s – then we wish all the best to the happy couple!
