Why people are throwing slushies at trucks in TikTok’s latest ‘dumb’ trend
A bizarre new trend is circling TikTok that sees people throwing slushies at their trucks and it’s the most pointless thing.
The ‘stupid’ challenge emerged in the US this month and the videos are getting millions of views – but why are they doing it?

Slushie truck trend takes over TikTok
The TikTok trend sees people going to their local 7-Eleven, or any other gas station, and buying a large slushie. They then throw the entire drink, including the cup, at their truck in the parking lot so the liquid spills all over the vehicle.
It’s being done by groups of teens who are filming the entire thing at the gas station and posting the video to TikTok with a rap track in the background – Bag Season by Jay Lewis, featuring Da Real Gee Money.
People aren’t doing it with normal cars though, and you can only take part in the trend if you have a truck. Particularly, it’s supposed to be a Bubba Truck which is slang for a four wheel drive pickup with modifications such as large tires or a loud exhaust.

Why people are throwing slushies at trucks
TikTok users are throwing slushies at their trucks to show that their vehicle is ‘too clean’, which means perfect or really nice in internet slang. So, truckers are launching the beverage at their pickups to ironically make them ‘dirty’.
Essentially, the trend is just a way for motorheads who own trucks to show off their vehicles on social media. There’s no other point to it at all, it’s just a load of truck-obsessed internet users doing a strange thing to go viral.
On TikTok, there is a whole subcommunity of truckers whose entire accounts are dedicated to their pickups. They share videos all about their trucks which are watched by millions of car geeks across the world.
‘Dumb’ trend confuses TikTok users
The bizarre trend is being branded ‘dumb’ and ‘stupid’ by people on TikTok who are confused by the whole thing.
One person wrote: “This is the new trash TikTok trend.”
“I don’t get it,” another commented.
A third TikTok user added: “This trend is so dumb.”
“I’m so confused by this trend,” said another.
However, others think it’s hilarious and are engrossed in the viral challenge. The internet is a strange place!
