Plastic surgeon Dr. Kim goes viral on TikTok for dramatic before and after videos
A plastic surgeon has gone viral online after sharing their dramatic before and after transformations that should be seen to be believed.
Surgeon Dr. Kim has gained over 100,000 followers on TikTok, with videos racking up millions of views and captivating users.
The South Korean surgeon says he takes patients from a 46-year-old turned into a little girl , in transformations that have left other doctors wondering if the patient is even the same person.
Dramatic surgeries have taken TikTok by storm
Dr. Kim is based in South Korea, where studies suggest that 25 percent of young women have had plastic surgery, while 31 percent of 30-39-year-old women have.
The TikTok surgeon performs facelift surgeries before uploading the transformations online, where they regularly gain millions of views.
A facelift involves raising and repositioning the skin and soft tissue of the face. During the operation, cuts are made on both sides of the face in front of the ear, extending up along the hairline, just in front of or behind the cartilage, and around the earlobe, into the crease behind the ear, and then into the lower scalps, reports the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
In their videos, Dr. Kim manages to completely transform the patients in a way that has skin pulled back like many have never seen before. The results have been dividing users on TikTok, with some claiming to be both impressed and confused, as many of the patients appear to go from elderly women to school-aged.
The viral videos are before the surgery has settled
Despite the results taking many back online, it’s important to remember that many of these videos are filmed soon after surgery. This is something pointed out in the comments by many.
According to BAAPS, the skin on a facelift patient will often feel too tight at first and it is necessary to wait for the results to settle over the course of weeks and even months.
At first your face and neck skin may seem too tight, reports the organization. This usually settles down within six weeks of the operation. Most patients are pleased with the final result, but some find their new shape difficult to get used to. This may happen to you. You cannot judge the final result of your facelift or neck lift for about six to nine months.”
Dr. Kim denied using different patients in the TikTok videos
Dr. Kim denied allegations that the before and after shots feature two different people, thanks to the wild difference in appearances.
In a comment on his video he remained adamant that they are definitely the same people, writing: Its the same person after a viewer commented that there was no way they could be the same.
