UFC 267 was a fantastic event in Abu Dhabi last weekend, but Bruce Buffer missed the show after testing positive for COVID-19. Will he be back for UFC 268 in New York?
The legendary ring announcer is one of the biggest parts of every UFC event. His amazing voice hypes every fight fan up, and that was thoroughly missed in the UAE last Saturday.
Joe A Martinez replaced Buffer and he did a fantastic job. However, fight fans around the world really missed the 64-year-old, who hadn’t skipped a UFC event for over 25 years before last weekend.
Will Buffer be back for UFC 268 in New York this Saturday? Here’s what we know…
Will Bruce Buffer return for UFC 268?
An official confirmation about Buffer’s return is yet to be announced by the UFC, but the promotion revealed last week that he is expected to be back for the New York event this weekend.
Buffer, however, seems to have taken matters into his own hands. He revealed in a tweet on October 31 saying: “I’ll be back for UFC 268.”
To add to that, the legendary ring announcer sent a Cameo message to one of his fans recently. The video was made to congratulate the fan for reaching 100,000 followers, but Buffer did say the words ‘I’ll see you at UFC 268,’ which all but confirms his availability this weekend.
UFC 268: Main fight card
The main card of UFC 268 will kick off with Frankie Edgar taking on Marlon Vega in the bantamweight division. Shane Burgos is set to face Billy Quarantillo in the second fight, which will surely be an exciting one.
The real show comes next. Justin Gaethje takes on Michael Chandler in what is expected to be a war. Rose Namajunas defends her strawweight crown against Zhang Weili in the co-main event this weekend.
The main event, however, will likely steal the show. Kamaru Usman takes on Colby Covington again and if their first fight is anything to go by, the one this weekend at UFC 268 will be an extraordinary bout.
