Former major league pitcher Odalis Perez has passed away aged 44, his attorney has confirmed, leaving behind his ex-wife and three children.
The New York Post reports the baseball player died following an accident at his home in the Dominican Republic.

Baseball star passes away at 44
MLB star Odalis Perez has sadly passed away aged 44, his attorney told ESPN. Walin Batista told the media outlet the baseball star died following an accident at his Dominican Republic home.
“Around 7pm, his brother Cristian Perez arrived at the house and found Odalis lying in the patio,” Batista explained.
“We don’t know yet the cause of his death but everything seems to indicate Odalis slipped down a ladder. This is a tragedy.”
Perez was famous for his time with the Los Angeles Dodgers, with whom he spent five seasons.

Who was Odalis Perez’s wife?
Odalis Perez was only married once – to Evelina Garcia. She is a professional model and TV presenter and was Perez’s only public relationship.
The couple tied the knot in 2008 but their marriage was short-lived. As reported by The Sun, the couple split after a short period of marriage.

Although Perez and Garcia’s marriage didn’t last very long, the couple did welcome daughter Ambar Evelina, who is currently 13 years old.
