Former Texas A&M track star Kennedy Smith has gone viral thanks to a highlights reel shared to Twitter.
The 1 minute 41 second compilation clip shows Smith flexing her skills at hurdles, and keeping the camera’s attention on her at all times. Blowing kisses, doing celebratory moves, and doing modelesque dramatic turns to camera, Smith “knows how to play the game,” according to Twitter. The video has been liked over 150,000 times since it was posted on November 20, 2022.
“Her lift at the hurdle is perfect. Hell, she’s perfect and looks like she’s having the time of her life. As she should,” one tweeted.

Who is Kennedy Smith?
Kennedy Smith is a former Texas A&M track star and current Masters student. She majored in Communications while an undergraduate student at Texas A&M. It appears she is now utilizing those communications skills as Smith has also become a sports reporter for TexAgs (an independent fan website about the university’s news) as well as the Thursday Night Showdown sideline reporter for AT&T SportsNet Southwest.
It comes as no surprise that Kennedy Smith ended up competing in track. Her father, David Smith, competed in football and track at Sam Houston State.
Hailing from The Woodlands, Texas, Smith attended The Woodlands High School before furthering her studies at Texas A&M.

Kennedy Smith started competing in track age 10
Following in the footsteps of her father, Kennedy Smith started competing in track from a young age. Born on September 22, 1998, Smith started competing at the age of 10.
While at The Woodlands High School, Smith competed in 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles, 100 meters, 4×1, 4×2, and 4×4. As a senior, Smith won 6A District 12 title in 100m hurdles, runner-up in Area meet with best of 13.94, and placed fifth in Region II-6A final. She was also cheer captain at her high school.
In 2021, Smith clocked a season best 60m hurdles time of 8.25, placing fourth at the Charlie Thomas Invitational. This is the same year that Smith then suffered a season ending injury at the Michael Johnson Invitational. She competed the following year, however has since retired from the sport.
Kennedy Smith is currently 24 years old. Smith would have been 23 when she competed in her last SEC championships in May 2022.
Kennedy Smith has a future in sports broadcasting
Track star Kennedy didn’t take much of a break before she dove head-on into a new sporting field. This time around, Kennedy Smith will stay to the side of the track and field, as she moves into a media role.
In July this year, Smith began her foray into the world of sports broadcasting. She was interviewing sports stars at the SEC Media Days event which takes place at The College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
The following month, in August, Smith made her debut as a sideline reporter. She wrote that there were “more [gigs] to come,” in an Instagram post.
