Ernie Johnson was missing from the halftime show on NBA on TNT, causing fans to cry out. What happened to Ernie Johnson?
Where is Ernie Johnson tonight?
Fans took to Twitter yesterday to ask where Ernie Johnson was, when the popular sportscaster didn’t appear during the halftime show on NBA on TNT.
Fans bemoaned the broadcast crew that stood in for the usual sportscasters. One Twitter user declared: “The heart of the crew is Ernie Johnson man!”
Some went as far as muting the show – or, at least, saying they were going to – and branding the stand-in team “the B team”.
Is Ernie Johnson still on TNT
Yes, Ernie Johnson is still on TNT. His Twitter bio still reads Sportscaster – for NBA, MLB, March Madness and PGA Championship.
His website’s About section lists nothing about leaving as host of TNT’s Inside the NBA, alongside Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal.
However, it does say that when he’s not behind the mic, Ernie is probably in Breaselton, Georgia, with his wife Cheryl and their six children.
What happened to Ernie Johnson?
Ernie and co-casters Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith were absent from yesterday’s edition of NBA on TNT.
Someone stood in for him, although one fan thought the new corresponding team didn’t “mesh”.
Without a statement from NBA, it’s not clear what happened to Ernie Johnson – or indeed any of his co-casters – to cause them not to appear.
Likewise, fans will have to presume that nothing untoward has happened, and that Ernie Johnson will be back next time.
