West Ham transfer update – potential signings
West Ham boss David Moyes has insisted the club have already made offers for “four or five” players during this transfer window, talking to Sports Report.
The Scot reiterated the Hammers’ priority is a new striker and suggested a short-term loan could work, as long as it fits the club’s model.
Moyes declined to name the players West Ham have made bids for.

Ismaila Sarr
The Athletic reports the Hammers are interested in Watford’s Ismaila Sarr.
The Senegalese winger has attracted several suitors in the English top flight but would cost a reported £50 million.
That would break the record West Ham paid for Haller (£45 million), although they sold the striker to Ajax for less than half that amount (£20.25 million).
Sarr is a quality player and has four goals and five assists in his 19 Championship appearances this term.

Olivier Giroud
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Chelsea value reported West Ham target Olivier Giroud at only £4.4 million.
Eurosport had claimed the Frenchman was being lined up as a successor to Haller at West Ham.
Giroud is out of contract in the summer and could leave Stamford Bridge for free. That situation could pave the way for the Hammers to land the proven Premier League striker for a cut-price fee this month.

Ones who got away
Arkadiusz Milik
Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik has agreed a £7 million move to Marseille a week after West Ham saw a bid rejected by the Italian club, as reported by RMC Sport.
West Ham were ready to increase their £6 million bid for Poland international Milik, according to Onet.
However, this looks like one striker move that has failed to hit the back of the net.
Kai Wagner
MLSSoccer reports West Ham target Kai Wagner has extended his contract at Philadelphia Union for an extra year with the option of a further year after that.
In November, German outlet Kicker reported Wagner was attracting interest from West Ham and Fulham.
Yet the latest update suggests the Hammers will have to wait until December 2022 to land the defender.
Choco Lozano
Cadiz striker Antony ‘Choco’ Lozano wants to stay in La Liga for “many years” despite interest from West Ham, speaking to the club’s YouTube channel.

“I also have the dream of staying in the first division for many years. I want to fight for that dream with Cadiz.”
