Tanguy Ndombele was an unused substitute in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Friday night – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have urged manager Jose Mourinho to give him a chance in the next fixture.

Spurs returned to competitive action with a home draw against Man United in the Premier League, as Mourinho faced off against his former club.

Steven Bergwijn fired in an opening goal for the north London club after some great individual skill in the 27th minute, but the visitors managed to equalise through a Bruno Fernandes penalty late in the second-half.

Spurs remain eighth in the league table with a six-point deficit to fourth-placed Chelsea, who have a game in hand against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Mourinho doesn’t have long to prepare his team for their next fixture, as they host London rivals West Ham on Tuesday night and are desperate for victories in their bid for a European finish.

A selection of Spurs fans on social media were left confused at Ndombele’s omission against Man United and are desperate to see him play against West Ham.

The 23-year-old midfielder was left on the bench throughout the game, despite regulations allowing Mourinho to make five substitutions if needed.

He is a French powerhouse that has shown glimpses of his quality during his first year in England since his arrival last summer from Lyon, scoring two goals and supplying four assists in 27 games across all competitions.

There is plenty of competition in the centre of the park within the squad, as Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks got the nod to start in the Man United draw.
