The South African tennis star takes on Matteo Berrettini in the Round of 32 at Indian Wells today (15 March). Here, we take a look at Lloyd Harris’ girlfriend, Biance Van Zyl, and their relationship.

Lloyd George Muirhead Harris was born on 24 February 1997 in Cape Town, South Africa. He is currently ranked 32 in the world by the ATP, and reached a career-high ranking of 32 in September 2021.

Harris is the South African number one and has won three ATP Challenger singles titles in his career so far.

Breakthrough at the 2021 US Open

The rising tennis star booked his first-ever Grand Slam quarter-final at the 2021 US Open in September. The 24-year-old beat American Reilly Opelka 6-7, 6-4, 6-1, 6-3 in the round of 16.

He faced fourth seed Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals but lost in straight sets.

Who is Lloyd Harris’ girlfriend?

Lloyd Harris’ girlfriend is Biance Van Zyl. It is believed Biance Van Zyl was a former tennis player at junior level, however, she never turned professional.

Van Zyl is believed to be South African and also a native of Cape Town.

The couple are relatively active on social media, with Harris often sharing pictures of his girlfriend.

Like her boyfriend, Biance is pretty active on Instagram.

She currently has more than 13k followers, and often shares sizzling snaps at the beach and working out.

She also shared a photo court-side at the US Open cheering on her boyfriend Lloyd.

Who is Lloyd Harris’ coach?

Harris was coached by Norman McCarthy as a child.

In 2012 he joined the Anthony Harris Tennis Academy, and has been coached by Anthony Harris ever since.

Although they share the same surname, they aren’t related.

Lloyd Harris is also coached by former player Xavier Malisse, who has helped fine-tune the South African’s skills.

“Xavier has been a huge influence in the team since he joined. He has so much experience, so much I can learn from him,” Harris said.

“He has been in these situations many times, and was obviously a phenomenal player. Now he can help me with my transition to becoming a better player also.”
